Mientkiewicz & Red Sox Going To Arbitrator Over '04 Final Out Ball

     With a ball that symbolizes the BoSox's first title in 86 years, the logical choice would be to keep it with the Boston organization.  However, Doug Mientkiewicz loaned the ball to the team with an agreement that he would receive it back by January.  Because of this. an arbitrator could decide that Mientkiewicz is the rightful owner.  If I were Doug, I'd let the team keep the ball.  Besides, he didn't play that long with Red Sox in the first place.

    

     For inquiring minds who want to know, Doug Mientkiewicz and yours truly were born on the exact same day-- June 19, 1974.
