Salary caps give everyone a fairly competitve chance to be good & have parity with a more level playing field for everyone! Compitition among everyone generates more interest & intrigue from fans & would be fans from all over the United States & not just the big market areas along the east coast & the northeast quadrent of the country. This is the major problem with major league baseball! Fans all over the country watch the NFL because there is parity & seemingly equal coverage for everyone, where as the average american from Nebraska, New Mexico, Idaho, or Arkansas could probably care less about the state of baseball today because baseball's higher archy could probably give two shits about smalltown USA in the middle of nowhere! They just want to kiss New York's ass, or even Boston's, or Chicago's, or maybe even Atlanta's! What about Joe Blow in Fayetteville, Arkansas who would love to be able to follow the Kansas City Royals a little more often, but can't because it is not a big market area & the Royals are never on TV! How is someone like the Royals to get noticed if they never get on TV, except for the bottom line results & final scores on ESPN or ESPN 2? I'm starting an anti-big market movement so that baseball will recognize that there needs to be radical change for the better! [drrubb from Unknown/??] Replies:
