That is another good point about the Marlins interest in Verlander.  He did attend college for four years at Old Dominion and dominated there.  Verlander quickly moved through the minors last season to make a couple of appearences in the majors.  I am excited about the possibility of those guys being mainstays on the team for years to come.  The Tigers have not had a good home grown starting pitcher/closer combination since Jack Morris and Willie Hernandez :(
