Ever SINCE the 2004 season, they've been the media's whipping boys. >Now you have me laughing, Cyn! When did the Red Sox become >everyone's baseball scapegoat, replacing the Yanks? The easy >answer: NEVER. Even with a World Series win. :) > There was no brawl on Sunday...two guys jawing at each other and the benches milling around on the field is not a brawl. But your thinking there was a brawl kind of speaks to my first point. >If, within a three day period during PRESEASON, any team got >into TWO brawls, you would hear about it -- even if it was the >Devil Rays. :) > >It is one thing if it happened versus one team (i.e., bad >blood generated between the same two teams)... but these were >two different teams. Again, Tavarez is a nutjob...has nothing to do with the 'focus' of the team. What makes you think there's a lack of focus? In the two games where there was some kind of 'incident', the Red Sox won both of them. I'm not worried at all. Although, I'd be happier if that freakshow Tavarez wasn't on our team. >If I were a diehard Sox fan, I would be worried about the >focus of this team. If I was from Boston (and a fan of the >Bruins, also, presumably, I probably would be eating all of >this up in a good way). > >Either way, time will tell what kind of team Boston is, as we >progress. I suspect that they are pretty darn good, >notwithstanding the lack of focus. [redsoxchick from Boston/MA] Replies: 2780
