Re: Feds may be pursuing perjury case for Bonds from the 2003 BALCO grand jury testimony regarding steroids

Good points here, Dr. Rub. As reluctant as I am to admit it, I'm also starting to feel a little sorry for Bonds. He's brought much of these controversies upon himself, but the media has become relentless in their pursuit of getting Ba-Bo to say what they want to hear. Their objective is to simply sell more papers in this matter. I believe that Bonds knowingly took steroids and denied it during his testimony. There's no way that he took shots and muscle creams from his trainer Greg Anderson-- a childhood friend, by the way-- and believed them to be muscle relaxers. Common sense should tell you different. However, like the Martha Stewart situation, lying under oath to a grand jury or investigators doesn't rise to the level of a jail sentence. At least, not in this case, since the only ones hurt here are baseball and Bonds himself. I'm all for a stiff fine and if he passes Hank Aaron's record, an asterisk next to his name. Come to think of it, if Mark McGuire is found to have juiced up his body, then the same should be done with him, which would once again make Roger Maris the legitimate single season home run leader.
