Doug Mientkiewicz and the Red Sox agree to end their legal fight over ownership of the ball from the final out of the 2004 World Series by sending it to the Hall of Fame

     According to several sources, both parties reached an "amicable" agreement in the matter, so Mientkiewicz was obviously looking for a little extra dough for the ball, rather than simply keeping it for symbolic reasons.  Nonetheless, he made the right decision in allowing this historic ball to be on display in Cooperstown.
