Isn't this insane?  Any Dbacks fans have the inside scoop as to why they just didn't send him to the bullpen for awhile to work things out?

Did they try, and Russ refused?

That is a lot of money to throw away.  I am sure that Ortiz could have been more effective given 1-2 innings every once in awhile.
