MLB is in serious negotiations with TBS Sports to put a portion of the league's championship series exclusively on cable television for the first time

     This is a good idea as long as TBS isn't given exclusive rights to major games, such as the World Series and the All-Star game.  I've never understood why the NBA All-Star game is now shown only on TNT, rather than the big 4.
