Not counting their strike-split season in '81, the A's have been in first place at the All-Star break seven times (1971-75, '88, and '90) and have won their division ALL seven of those years in their Oakland history

     Could this be deja vu all over again?  While the N.L. West is stronger than predicted, the A.L. West has become the most underachieving one in the majors so far.
