After Shea Hillenbrand wrote on a team bulletin board that 'the ship was sinking', manager John Gibbons challenged him to a fist fight.  Today, Hillenbrand was cut from Toronto...

     I'm not excusing Hillenbrand's behavior, but it was totally inappropriate for a manager to challenge a player to a fight.  Gibbons should have handled this one by giving Shea a fine, suspension, or immediately go to the front office demanding a cut from the team, which he did AFTER making the foolish challenge.
