The Phillies are looking to pursue Alfonso Soriano and Gary Sheffield

     Both players could help the Phils compete with the Mets next year, but it could lead to some problems.  It's no secret that Soriano was unhappy with the Nats for moving him to the outfield in favor of Jose Vidro and prefers to play second base.  The Phillies already have their young phenom Chase Utley established at that position.  And, of course, there could be problems with Sheffield if he has any disagreement with his contract negotiations.
