Red Sox announce that Papelbon is the closer

ESPN says he is a risky option.  I agree, to the limited extent that I don't think he'll be in the closer role all season.



The Red Sox seemed pumped to put him in the rotation.  I think that will continue if and when one of the closer prospects looks reliable in the during the early course of the regular season.



That being said, I will likely try and get him.  He was too good last season to not take a chance... even as a starter.
