In Appreciation of Jamie Moyer’s Overlooked Career

Johan Santana, generally considered one of the top pitchers in baseball, won a must-win game for the Mets Sunday night to run his record to 13-7.  Earlier in the day/night double header, 45-year-old Jamie Moyer held the Mets’ bats silent for seven innings to run his record to 13-7.  But there was no All-Star game for Moyer, no talk of an MVP season and certainly no $20 million-plus paychecks coming his way.  Which makes this season fit in perfectly with the rest of his career.
