This time however they were able to turn that effort into a victory thanks to three home runs. Jeremy Bonderman allowed a run in the top of the first, but was brilliant after that. He did not allow another run until there were two out in the eighth. Rodney worked the final inning and an out to earn the save. He now has seven on the season. Thames hit his ninth home run in the fourth inning to tie the game at one. Marcus went 2-3 on the evening and is now hitting .316 on the year. Carlos Guillen hit a two run shot in the fourth inning for his seventh home run on the season. After Boston cut the lead to 3-2 in the eighth Maggs made the ending less dramatic by hitting a three run home run. Ordonez is now hitting .320 with 13 HRs and 42 RBI. Detroit looks to take the series against Boston Sunday afternoon sending Zach Minor out for his first career major league appearance. *** OEs 3 Stars of the Game *** #3 Marcus Thames – 2-3 with a run scored, a HR and one RBI #2 Magglio Ordonez – 2-4 with 2 runs scored, a HR and 3 RBI #1 Jeremy Bonderman – Win (6), 7.2 IP, 4 Hs, 2 Rs, 2 BBs, 6 Ks, 4.38 ERA &img-http://detroit.tigers.mlb.com/images/2006/06/03/KTKCwVyx.jpg-img& On Tap – Game 57 (37-19) v.
