Rogers gave up a two run homer in the first inning, but nothing the rest of the way. Placido Polanco tied the game in the third inning with a two run home run. Prior to the AB Detroit was 0-14 with runs in scoring position in the series. The Tigers rally in the sixth began with the hustle of Pudge Rodriguez. He singled with one out and tagged up on a fly out by Ordonez just beating the throw to second. Guillen followed with a RBI single and went to second on the throw to the plate. Guillen embraced Pudge’s hustle and scored from second on an infield hit by Infante. Marcus Thames gave the Tigers a cushion with his 11th homer of the season in only 109 at bats. Detroit gets the monkey of beating the White Sox off their back and move back to 1.5 games ahead in the standings.
