That rumor was reported in the Philly papers...maybe it is wishful thinking on their part.  I doubt the Tigers would need to give up much of anything for this guy.  He would be a temporary bandaid for the left-handed reliever spot.  The great news is that Zumaya official has made the team and will be a big part of the bullpen.  should be interesting to see how the rest of the 3 spots pan out.  The Free Press reported this weekend the following jobs are definite...Todd Jones (closer), F. Rodney (set-up), Jamie Walker (left-handed specialist) and Zumaya.  So the spots occupied last year by Spurling and German plus one other spot are up for grabs.  I still expect Spurling to make the team and hopefully German regains control.
