My money league draft results 2006: Anatomy of an Auction Draft

This was the strangest auction draft in my 10 years or so of participating in this particular league.  There were some INCREDIBLE values at the end of the draft, as you will see.

I may have missed some picks in the latter rounds because I was busy tryingto catch up...  but, here is the round by round summary with values.  My team is "Rob's Mob."  Gregg's team is "Special K."  The number at the end of each line is the amount paid.

This is a 5x5, with OBP instead of R and k/9 instead of K.  $260 salary cap, where we select 22 players (2 C, 8 P, 1 1/3, 1 2/S, 1 1B, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 SS, 5 OF, 1 UT).

I threw out the first guy, which is the luxury of winning the league the year before, so I decided to surprise, by throwing out everyone's favorite "sleeper" catcher.

For the majority of the rounds (until I filled up my team), I called out the first player.  You might find it interesting how my strategy worked out. I still had a blank in my DH spot, so I just continued to throw out catchers (I was able to get Piazza and Posada early for a combined $12... yup... what the heck?!?!?!?), so I wanted to make sure that other teams with more money and gaps in their catcher spot would fill up.

FYI: Josh Willingham went for $15.  Like I said, this was a strange draft.
