The guy was making contact 64% of the time, but was hitting .340 whenever he hit a ball in play as of 7/18,  I'm due for a playertrack update within the next week or so, so my opinion might change... but I doubt it.  Just under two months left to the season, and if these figures are consistent through today, it doesn't look good for Shoppach in the remainder.

One of these days, Shoppach's luck is going to run out.  Add to the mix that VMart us about to start a rehab assignment... then, forgetting the above statistics, there is a credible risk that Shoppach loses playing time.

Garko could be odd man out with VMart going to first, but there is nothing definitive here.  I suspect that if this happens, Shoppach slumps... and then loses playing time.
