Most of Ryno's observations are good. The Mets and Dodgers are certainly the big winners for the past week. The Mets have a slighter edge with the signings of Delgado and LoDuca. However, I have a few disagreements. I don't see how the Padres are a big winner with re-signings of Hoffman and Roberts this week. Hoffman's best years are behind him and Dave Roberts is a bit overrated, IMHO. Sure, he steals a lot of bases, but his batting average and on-base percentage are usually quite low for a leadoff man. I don't think the Braves lost at all. True, they lost Furcal, but they gained Renteria to fill the SS spot and they still have a few guys who are capable of leading off. Unlike Ryno, I also believe that the Nats will benefit from signing Alfonso Soriano. I know there's griping from Soriano about not wanting to play outfield, but they'll work it out. He's a solid talent who will help bring a winning team in the nations capital.
