The first priority of the Red Sox should be to find an outfielder with the leadership qualities that Johnny Damon contributed to the team. With Edgar Renteria gone, they can use a little more help at the top of the lineup. Getting rid of Manny is not in their best interest either, unless the Sox can manage to get someone of equal value in return.

However, I understand why they're pursuing Kevin Millwood. Curt Schilling isn't the same dominant pitcher he used to be. Though, it's pretty unlikely that Millwood will put up the same stellar numbers he put up in '05. Besides, the Bo-Sox pitching is fine the way it is.
