With Ramirez, Ortiz, and a respectable pitching staff, the Red Sox should be able to compete with the Yankees for the top spot in the A.L. East. Manny stated today that he would rather stay in a place he's familiar with for now and not go to any National League team. Since he's a 10-5 player (10 yrs. in MLB, 5 yrs. with same team), he has the option to veto any possible trade. So, you can scratch off any Manny for Tejada trade ideas.
