Furcal to have knee surgery now Date :   1/09/06, 11:16pm I'll say before what I said last season about Barry. Why now? Why not have this procedure a month or two ago? I suppose the obvious answer is: he didn't want this to interfere with the cash he was trying to get (i.e., a GM could say to Furcal's agent: "but that knee..."). Furcal to have knee surgery now Date :   1/10/06, 6:21am I was not aware that Furcal had knee problems. I can't remember him having any knee problems when he played for the Braves. That will be a pretty big blow to the Dodger line up. It is a good thing the Dodgers kept Izturis around. Or is Izturis not there anymore. Last I heard, he was still there. I'm not saying Izturis is as good as Furcal.
