Brilliant move by the Bo-Sox and it looks like they have filled in the missing holes after the losses of Johnny Damon and Edgar Renteria. Once again, Theo Epstein proves how much of a baseball genius he is.

In the deal, the Sox acquired Coco Crisp from the Indians for Guillermo Mota and prospect Andy Marte. Coco is an hard-nosed player and he'll fill in quite nicely at the top of their lineup. Soon enough, Boston fans will be saying Johnny who? Guillermo Mota is one of the finest middle-relievers in the game, but the Red Sox still have a tough bullpen led by the likes of Keith Foulke and Julian Tavarez.

The upcoming signing of Alex Gonzalez from Florida should make up for the loss of Edgar Renteria. Like Renteria, Gonzalez doesn't hit for much power, but he's still a decent hitter and an excellent fielder.

The Bo-Sox officially signed Alex Gonzalez today to a one year deal. Now, all they need to do is to go after some quality pitching if they want to top the Yankees in the A.L. East. Fans in Boston seem to be excited about this year's team as they have already sold 2.1 million tickets so far.
