Other than Roger Clemens, all of the top notch free-agent pitchers have been signed, so the best Cleveland can do at the moment is to acquire Weaver and hope he has another career year. After losing Coco Crisp, the Indians may have a tough season ahead of them.

Cleveland should have kept Crisp, instead of trading him for prospects for two reasons: 1. Keep him and see how the year is going. Now they have essentially gave up on the year and need to trade for an outfielder. 2. Those prospects may never pan out. Does anyone remember Cory Synder? Exactly my point. By trading away Westbrook (which would prompt the signing of Weaver) for Kearns would be disasterous for a team that was that close to catching the World Champs last year. What a pity.

Good points... It seems like the Indians have been having a little firesale this past offseason. What's their front office up to lately? It looks like they're trying revert back to the same team depicted in the film, "Major League".
I remember Cory "The Corndog" Snyder when he played for the Dodgers. Decent player and a funny guy, but he had a hard time coming through when the game was on the line.

Well everyone here seems to think that the trade was the greatest thing in the world, at the fans anyway. The papers are a different story altogether. Shapiro has done a lot of weird trades that didn't seem smart at the time, but for some reason turned out alright. I still think the juries out though.
