As the third base coach for the Marlins, he was celebrating their World Series win with Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez on the night prior to the interview. It boggles my mind how Ozzie impressed White Sox GM Ken Williams enough to become the new skipper, but the right man was obviously picked to do it.
