The last guy to tie the mark was Tim Wakefield, another knuckleballer. Other pitchers who came close are the same type of pitchers. Very interesting, considering how players have always complained that hitting a knuckleball is difficult. On the rare occasions when players make contact with this pitch, it goes a long way, since most knuckleballers usually have an ERA above 4.00.
