This Week in Geek News discusses Derrek Lee and the Cursed Cubbies, steroid suspensions, underpaid players, and injury news; a look at the hot and cold hitters and pitchers; a more tightly constructed fantasy forecast with a healthy dose of fantasy questions; two start pitchers; False Rumors, and more.

Time: Just over 55 minutes...

With regards to Kevin mench, he changed shoes pretty early in the season, not the day he started his streak:
"Mench changed to larger baseball shoes about a week into the season, and also got an orthotic to relieve stress on the toe. He was coming off a monster spring in which he hit .417 with seven homers and 18 RBI, and was expected to make up some of the productivity lost when the Rangers traded 100-RBI man Alfonso Soriano to the Washington Nationals."
-Jorge L. Ortiz, USA TODAY
So, about a week into the season, and he didn't start his streak until about 3 weeks into the season.

Keith Hernandez's story line in Seinfeld went as such: Jerry met him, and Jerry liked him, and Keith had seen his act, and thought he was funny. So they kind of became friends. Keith then began dating Elaine. On roughly the same day, a week or two into their respective relationships, Elaine dumped Keith because he smoked. Jerry stopped seeing him because Keith asked him to help move, and Jerry was uncomfortable with that because he hadn't known him long enough to help him move.
Kramer and Newman also had a run in with Mr. Hernandez, a few years early they were heckling him, and then they thought he spit on them outside the park, turns out it was Roger McDowell, who they had earlier dumped beer on while he was in the bullpen. Then Kramer and Newman helped Keith move.

Great show, guys.

Gregg and I know we can rely on you to catch our mistakes! You keep us on our toes.

Thanks for your comments and the Seinfeld episode summary! Sorry about forgetting to update the comments link, though, which is why you ended up commenting on #16 when you meant to comment on #17 (all fixed now).
