This is against the MLB rules... he is supposed to face a three year suspension for this act, which -- OF COURSE -- is silly. An exception should be made here.

Who is behind this silly mess?

That same blog that tried to convince the world that Krod was cheating. Someone screw up this guy's harddrive or something.

I think that MLB should look at the incident and decide no harm no foul and let it go at that. They should also amend the rule to give them an out in case a similar incident happens in the future.

In all honesty, doesn't the MLB have bigger fish to fry then worry about gifts amongst each team? Sure, I understand that he broke the rules, and rules are rules, but I they shouldn't make a big stink about it. And yeah, 3 years is WAY to much to pay. How about fine them the amount of the "gift" and tack on an extra 50k or something? It looks like it will be a no harm no foul, because KC is returning the bubbly.
