What a strange game. Teddy Lilly pitched all but one out in the game and only allowed three hits. He also struck out twelve and at time was dominant. However, Detroit made the most of their three hits. Brandon Inge hit a three run home run and Marcus Thames added a two run shot. The five runs proved enough on this day as Zach Minor pitched well in his first major league victory.

Minor pitched six innings giving up four hits and only two runs against a great offensive team. The twenty-three year old rookie walked two, struck out five, gave up a home run and now has a 4.50 ERA. The bullpen came through for Minor. Roman Colon pitched two innings allowing just a single run. This outing was Colon’s first hold on the year. Todd Jones pitched the ninth for his seventeenth save. Nate “the Great” Robertson goes for his sixth victory and a series win for Detroit in Sunday’s 1:07 Canadian start time.
