Joe McDonnell on local talk radio is down on the trade. As a matter of fact, he is pretty down on the Dodgers, in general.

I was shocked to hear Joe actually defend Kaz Ishii today, focusing on the fact that Kaz had 13 wins last year.

Even when he mentioned that TEN of those thirteen were in the first half, he instead wanted to pay more attention to Phillips awful batting average last year.

Even if Phillips hits just about .200 as he did last year, it is STILL an upgrade.

More likely, I suspect somewhere between what he hit last year and the year before (.298) -- meaning, he'll probaly hit between .250-.260... and, this is absolutely fine in my book.

Kaz Ishii is too much of a liability. I'm happy with the trade.
