As Liriano is my only reserve at the moment out of my 6 bench slots, and having received Orlando Cabrera in my trade that got me Verlander while starting Keppinger, I decided to give up on Stephen Drew. I'm looking at picking up Joba, Bucholtz, Parra, or Volquez. Any input?

All the current rage is going to Dana Eveland, and I confess that I have picked him up in two leagues (primarily because of desperation).

As you likely know, I rely a lot on past stats, so Eveland doesn't seem that sexy to me... but he has done well in tgwo starts, is getting "expert" hype, AND is available on a number of waiver wires (certainly went undrafted).

It is a gamble, though... but one I have to take particularly in my money league because I have Sabathia, and I was relying on him for Ks. Eveland has 13 ks in 13+, I believe.

Of those you mention, I like all of those who you list... in this order: Joba, Parra, Volquez, Bucholz.

Luckily, Billingsly got dropped last night also...so I pounced. If I get him that will make my life a lot easier. Sometimes 6 bench slots aren't enough...currently its Parra, Liriano, Justin Upton, Granderson, Orlando Cabrera, and Longoria. I just picked up Longoria while dropping Aaron Hill, mostly because I had picked up Kendrick.

And with Granderson and Liriano coming back soon...sheesh >.

Pick up Joba however be weary that he will not start at all this year. He is the next closer in the Bronx. He is setting up like Mo did to Wetteland. But he can get 10 wins, pile up hte K's and have a very nice WHIP and ERA.

Good job. Billingsley looked promising in his last outing, and I liked that he was obviously pissed when Torre took him out early after 5 innings of 8 k ball.

He will get better as the season progresses, and he is the better option -- for certain -- among all pitchers that you listed.
