Re: 'Lack of Black players in baseball has become a crisis', says Indians pitcher C.C. Sabathia
(By: attacksquad)

After not visiting this site since last season, I was glad to see this was still in existance and the podcast is still being done. I couldn't be happier. I am still pissed that Ana Benson is still being mentioned, but then I saw this article/link and felt compelled to join the Geek Community again. I have to say that the previous posts made some excellent points. What has not been mentioned is the costs of being a baseball player these days. The Yankee championship teams of the late 90s had smaller payrolls and more homegrown talent. I have always thought any other team could have been those Yankees. Plenty of teams at that time could have signed Paul O'Neil or Tino Martinez, David Cone, David Wells, Mike Mussina, ect. Jeter and Posada are their homegrown, and I think (but am not sure) Rivera is also. Scott Broscious was at 3B and Chuck freakin' Knoblach (SP?) was part of their championship infield. They...

Re: The Mets had their two rookies, Lastings Milledge and Alay Soler, dressed up as women for their road trip from Toronto to Boston
(By: attacksquad)
