Schmidt's Threshers now 1-3

Philadelphia Phillies: Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt got his first win as a minor league manager when the Clearwater Threshers beat
the Dunedin Blue Jays 9-3 Sunday in the Florida State League.

Schmidt's team had lost its first three games by scores of
14-11, 12-2 and 8-1.

"I've got the ball, got my lineup card from the dugout,"
Schmidt said. "Now I get to go to Philly with a win."

He left after the game for the Phillies' first game at Citizens
Bank Park, Monday against Cincinnati.

"I'll be pretty excited to see it," he said. "They tell me I
have got a statue up there, and I am going to see that."

St. Louis Cardinals: The St. Louis Cardinals placed outfielder Roger Cedeno on the 15-day disabled list Sunday and recalled second
baseman Bo Hart from Triple-A.

Cedeno, acquired from the New York Mets just before the start of
the regular season, re-injured his strained left hamstring while
chasing Danny Bautista's single in the eighth inning of Saturday
night's 10-2 victory over Arizona.

Cedeno was hitless in five at bats so far this season.

Hart batted .277 as a rookie last season after being called up
from Memphis. He started in 68 games for St. Louis, 59 as the
leadoff batter.

But he was sent back to the minors just before the start of this
season after the Cardinals acquired Tony Womack to start at second.

Hart homered for Memphis Saturday night before flying to
Phoenix. He was in uniform for Sunday's game against the
Diamondbacks.
