Beckham puts Georgia on the board in eighth

OMAHA, Neb. -- Gordon Beckham led off the eighth inning with a long homer, accounting for Georgia's first run to pull the Bulldogs within 6-1 against Fresno State after eight innings.

Beckham blasted a 1-1 pitch for his 28th homer, matching the national lead.

But Fresno State starter Justin Wilson escaped further damage as his team carries a five-run lead into the final inning.
