I'll say before what I said last season about Barry.  Why now?  Why not have this procedure a month or two ago?

I suppose the obvious answer is: he didn't want this to interfere with the cash he was trying to get (i.e., a GM could say to Furcal's agent: "but that knee...").

What a drag this will be if it turns out to be worse than is being said (as with the Bonds situation last year).
