     The Big Hurt still has some pop in his swing, so he would be beneficial to Oakland's lineup.  It's too bad that Thomas has to leave the only team he's ever played for, but there's no room for him with the Chi-Sox with Jim Thome there now.  Acquiring the Big Hurt would be another smart move for Billy Beane.
