I have more confidence in this years team than last year and they won 93 games. If you'll refer to my post last spring on this subject, I predicted at least 85 wins for the '04 Blue Crew and I took a lot of heat for it. Watch guys like Jayson Werth and Hee-Seop Choi become household names. N.L. East Champ- Phillies... The Braves won't be able to compete with their offense, plus they have Billy Wagner to give them that extra lift down the stretch. N.L. Central Champ- Cardinals... They have the best offense and the addition of Mark Mulder will help an already respectable pitching staff. N.L. Wild Card- Padres... Brian Giles should have a monster comeback season, but Trevor Hoffman's best days are behind him, so I don't expect the Pads to finish ahead of Gagne and the Dodgers at the end of the season. A.L. West Champ- Angels... No other team in their division can compete with their offense, pitching, and coaching. A.L. East Champ- Yankees... As long as 'Ol Georgie is in charge, there will never be a salary cap in baseball. A.L. Central Champ- Twins... Best overall team on paper in their division with their improved offense. Justin Morneau should be the first Twin since Harmon Killebrew to hit 40 homers in a season. Plus, they have a rock-solid pitching staff from top to bottom with Johan Santana leading the way. A.L. Wild Card- Red Sox... Their solid offense should take them into the postseason, but the loss of Pedro will show in October. N.L. Champion- Cardinals A.L. Champion- Yankees World Series Champion- Cardinals N.L. Rookie of The Year- Not sure on this one yet. If Jason Phillips screws up in April, expect Dioner "Little Pudgito" Navarro to be a contender. A.L. Rookie of The Year- Dallas McPherson.. I've watched him this spring and I believe he'll make halo fans--true ones and bandwagon jumpers--forget all about Troy Glaus by the end of the season. Well, those are my projections for this year. What are yours?
