Most of his off-the-field antics were very shady. If steroids were more accesible in the '20's and '30's, Babe would've probably used them himself. Though, unlike Bonds, Ruth was very fan-friendly, particularly towards children. So, Babe deserves to be a few notches higher than Ba-Bo. From what I understand, Ruth's widow wasn't thrilled at all when Roger Maris broke Babe's record, so it's possible that the Ruth family doesn't like any player making it past number 714. On the other hand, Hank Aaron was a great guy on and off the field and deserves much better than someone who cheated on the game passing his record. A debate of whether or not an asterisk will be put in place if Bonds makes it to 756 would definitely happen. I wonder what Hank and his family think about all of this.
