This seems very familiar to the whole Joaqim Soria and Octavio Dotel situation with the Royals last season.

Rauch is likely to prove perfectly suitable for the role, meaning that Cordero becomes trade bait if the Nationals need help rebuilding, or if they are (by some miracle of fate) in contention.
