On every team, the last guy on the bench earns well into the six-figures. Where's the salary cap? Hank Aaron never made more than $200K. In today's dollars, that would come out the same as most average players and some bench-warmers in the league. That's one reason why I love the fantasy leagues where every team gets a fair shot to put out a winner. It should be that way in real life.

That's not entirely true.

Aaron retired in 1976.

The average house in 1976 was probably around $30,000.

The average house today is probably around $450,000... still, your point is well taken because this means in today's dollars, Aaron was likely making just over average.
