However, Doug Mientkiewicz loaned the ball to the team with an agreement that he would receive it back by January. Because of this. an arbitrator could decide that Mientkiewicz is the rightful owner. If I were Doug, I'd let the team keep the ball. Besides, he didn't play that long with Red Sox in the first place.
