According to Newsday, Yankee Manager Joe Torre has made a recruitment call to Red Sox Outfielder Johnny Damon about playing in the Bronx. Damon is also set to meet with the Dodgers this weekend. According to his agent, Scott Boras, these two teams are his two options if he leaves the Red Sox. The Dodgers would certainly benefit the most from adding Damon as this would give them some clubhouse leadership that they have been sorely lacking in recent years.

With the loss of Bradley, the Dodgers NEED Damon.

According to ESPN, there's a rumor going around that the L.A./Anaheim/Irvine/San Juan Capistrano Angels are also interested in Damon joining their team. Looks like they've thrown in the towel with Steve Finley.

As of today, 12/16, the Orioles have joined the derby in the quest to sign Damon, but there hasn't been a meeting scheduled between the two parties. The Bo Bice of baseball will be a good fit wherever he goes. He's a solid guy, on and off the field.
