This is an outcome you don’t see often from this 2006 Detroit Tigers team. They blew a one run lead in the bottom of the seventh inning to put an end to a six game winning streak. Rickie Weeks went yard off Joel Zumaya with two outs and a runner aboard in the bottom of the seventh. Zumaya took his first lost of the season and only his second blown save. Nate Robertson started and got the first two outs in the seventh. He gave up a base hit with two outs before Zumaya surrendered the home run. Nate allowed three runs only two earned in his almost seven innings of work. Detroit’s inability to hold the late 3-2 lead led to the Tigers missing out on another sweep.

Detroit took a 2-1 lead in the second with doubles by Carlos Guillen and Craig Monroe. Robertson helped his own cause by singling in Monroe for the lead. The Tigers extended the lead in the fifth as Monroe again doubled and scored on a single by Thames. However, the offense could not get any thing else going against Capuano who did a nice job keeping the Brew Crew in the game. The Tigers defense let them down with a pair of errors that Milwaukee was able to take advantage. In such a close game the unearned run proved to be the difference.
