Hey, this is to Carl Crawford just dropping a line to Holla at ya.....Thanks for the autograph. C'mon D Rays. Carl has a tattoo on his arm that says Holla at Me |
I was listening to "The Geeks" podcast last night and they dropped a spotlight on Sowers. I might be tipping my fantasy hand a little here but I have been touting Sowers as well this year. I think he will become quite a comodity. |
"I heard someone in my money league refer to him as "Terry-Oh" so I like to call him "Dance Fever" in honor of Danny Terrio of Solid Gold fame (lste 70s show for you youngins)." I remember Soul Train....it used to come on as cartoons went off on Saturday Mornings. As a kid I always loved to see the animation of the train.....Later playing ball, I seem to remember being called Soul Train...but more often it was Nite Train or The Night Train of Pain. I would come to bat and my teammates would start pulling the train whistle. :)

I understand that this kid is having a very hot start this year in the minors. I am curious if the Braves might slip him into a first base slot and move him on up. The Braves are fortunate to have two such talented catchers in their system with McCann and Salty. |
I am really glad to see Sosa back in the game. I always enjoy watching him play and hit. There is an aura of enthusiasm around him and his play and watching him you can tell that he really enjoys and loves the game. Even in light of some of his transgressions on the game he is dynamic, fun player and an asset to the game of baseball. Last comment by: Robert Jones @ 4/27/07, 9:34pm |

I always loved to see Kirby Pucket play and now Tori Hunter. It was such a horrific sight to see Tori, like his predecessor hit in the face by a pitch was such a horrific sight. I don't blame Tori for his first reaction to charge the mound. I admire his restraint after his initial impulse. Torii, to me, is such a clean player. He has found himself embattled recently for the indiscretion of giving a gift to another team....no harm done and the spirit of the gift was obviously not meant to in any unsportsmanlike manner. His demeanor reminds me of Kirby Pucket...tremendous hustle and a delightful spirit that seems to characterize his enjoyment of the game. ... |
Baseball has always been a game that has been filled with colorful nicknames. Many of the current ones, according to Fantasy Baseball Index seem to be given to the DH position with Big Papi, Pronk, and the Big Hurt. I learned of one tonight that has been endowed upon an exciting up and coming young utility player in the Cubs organization. Ryan Theriot has been nicknamed "The Riot" because his last name, "Theriot" is actually spelled "The Riot" when split apart. Isn't that a Riot? :) Last comment by: Robert Jones @ 4/27/07, 9:32pm |

>Is Hughes going to be as good as the hype? I can't wait to >see him throw. Okay, I was impressed. After his first inning jitters he showed me a little something. I can't wait to see him pitch some more. I watched Baseball Tonight and it seems that Orel Hershiser was impressed with him as well....if so then that is high praise indeed.
