First 1400 votes has this Smoltz outing. Short memories. Here is my favorite memory of a Smoltz outing (in relief, though) in 2002. April 6th. First relief appearance of the year. 2/3 IP, 6 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 2 BB, 2 K He went on to get 54 saves with a 3.29 ERA that season. http://espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stark_jayson/1438153 .html So, surprised that Smoltz is starting badly early in the season?
