It could be an excellent opportunity on the Cubs part, especially if they get up and coming pitcher Eric Bedard to come along with Tejada. Another offer involves a three-way deal that would send Manny Ramirez to the Orioles. As far as Mark Prior goes, he has one of the strongest arms in the game, but the O's could be taking a gamble, since he spends a lot of time on the D.L.
As much as I really like Mark Prior, Erik Bedard (while not as potentially good as Prior by any stretch) can pick up some of the slack, I think (if last year is any indication).
As a Cubs fan (not a diehard, but I really like to root for perennial underdogs), I would hate to see Prior go. BUT, this deal looks too good to pass up.
According to a latest report on ESPN News, the Cubs are still interested in Tejada. This could put the Cubbies in contention this year if they manage to acquire him.
