It's too bad that Thomas has to leave the only team he's ever played for, but there's no room for him with the Chi-Sox with Jim Thome there now. The A's have made some good moves in the offseason, particularly in signing Milton Bradley, who should blossom in the East Bay. As of right now, Oakland will be a strong contender for the A.L. West pennant. The Big Hurt signed a one-year deal with the A's for $500K. Thomas should be a big help in the middle of the Oakland lineup and they'll be quite competitive with the Angels in the A.L. West.
