A main reason the Mets gave for trading Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano was that Kazmir was sure to get hurt because of his throwing motion. Completely ignoring the fact that Zambrano had a bad arm when the Mets traded for him, and the Mets were told numerous times by the D'Rays that his arm was hurt before the trade. The Mets were led astray by Rick Peterson, their Pitching Coach, who told the Mets brass that he could fix Zambrano and make him a great pitcher. It was Peterson who also said that Kazmir was certain to get injured because of his throwing motion. I'm waiting to see how long it will be before Peterson starts taking credit for Pedro. (Current GM Omar Minaya had nothing to do with the trade, he was still with the Expos at the time.)
