This is probably something I will address in the podcast. I understand that Javy will go out on the waiver wire... but what competitor of the Red Sox would just lay down and let Javy go through the waiver wire?

There are many teams who could use Javy. I can't see him getting through waivers.

Anybody know the logic in this article? Post it up... I'll give you credit on the podcast.

ESPN seems to think a deal could be in place by tomorrow. Who knows. The only team in-division who would really want to block this is the Yankees. However, thanks to the percentages, the Red Sox take precedent on the waiver wire (as I understand it), so it's pretty much settled that the Sox can claim him.

Makes sense...

In the above link, it indicates that Lopez already cleared waivers yesterday, so it makes sense why the press would say it was all but a done deal.
