I enjoyed this article and mostly agree...

The article ends with: "And the Hall of Fame isn’t supposed to further some stupid sportswriter agenda. It’s supposed to further the game."

I disagree, slightly, with the latter statement... I think, more so, the Hall is about tracking the history of the game that we love for future generations.

When a movie like Field of Dreams has to exist so that we remember the memory of Shoeless Joe, I think it is silly that the same may have to be true many years from now to remember Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, or Mark McGwire.
